Pretty busy as usual – things are getting exciting and animal rights are beginning to make more sense to people. Discussion group meets for the first time next Tuesday, 7pm at ACE and our main aim is to make animal rights and environmental issues more meaningful in our daily lives. You are invited! Don’t be shy, please get in touch. Just drop us an email and let us know you are coming.
There are so many events coming up – hope to see you at some! See the diary below. The only other thing we’d want to highlight is the situation in Austria. The ten detainees have still not been released, and there has been lots going on – from letters and statements to high-profile demos and protests. Check out www.austriasolidarity.com and put your name down! Solidarity is more than just a word.

On June 25, in an historic vote, the Spanish parliament's Commission for the Environment, Agriculture, and Fisheries declared its support for The Great Ape Project, a proposal to grant rights to life, liberty, and protection from torture to our closest nonhuman relatives: chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orangutans.
